Dr. Melanie Ecker is an assistant professor at the University of North Texas within the Department of Biomedical Engineering. She completed most of her education in Germany focused on chemistry and later on began to focus on advanced polymer research and biomedical devices. Furthermore, Dr.Ecker is in charge of a research lab studying polymers in regards to biomedical applications, more specifically pertaining to the subject of neural networks within the gut. In the past 5 years, Dr.Ecker has been able to publish more than 20+ articles pertaining to her research with biomedical devices and neuroscience. In addition to conducting classes and managing her lab, Dr.Ecker is also a part of different committees on campus and a guest editor for Special Issue in Applied Sciences.
